So you know how I start every single letter…. well email with-
"THIS WEEK HAS BEEN AMAZING!"
Welp. I'd just like to say that this week has been exactly the
same :)
We had an awesome lesson with Ria and Will again…. in the car of
course and we watched the Restoration video. Every time I watch it I just know
it's true. So cool :) this gospel just makes so much sense! Sister Upshaw and I
were talking about that this morning. I read Alma 42 and I was just like MAN!
It all makes so much sense. God is perfect, and so is his church! I love it
:)
I love sharing my testimony every day! I was thinking about how
I was going to miss that when I got home, but then I realized that I GET TO DO
THAT EVERY SINGLE DAY AT HOME! As long as I'm constantly looking for
opportunities and praying for them, they'll come for sure!
I've been thinking a lot about why bad things happen to good
people. I ALWAYS get that question and I have no idea how to answer it.
Sometimes we use the story of Alma and Amulek which is great for that! But it's
still so hard to explain! I read this amazing story this morning in the Ensign
about this amazing family who's daughter died and how they overcame that trial.
I love this quote from it-
"Someday from the vintage point of the future, we shall be
satisfied with many of the happenings of this life that are so difficult for us
to comprehend."
-Spencer W. Kimball
And I felt like that pretty much summed it up for me :) trials
are so great! They help us grow! I think that we'll look back and just realize
how far we've come and be amazed that it was because of the hard things we went
through that molded us into who we've become.
I'm on a quote crazy right now…. so here's 2 more that I
love.
"Hardships often prepare ordinary people for EXTRAORDINARY
destiny."
"Sometimes we will face things for which there is no
earthly explanation. The greatest tragedy is to miss what God wants to teach us
through our troubles."
I have NO idea why I just went off on that, because I am not
having a hard time, but I know a lot of other people are and they need to hear
this I guess :)
I love seeing how my mission has helped me deal with things at
home a lot easier. It's amazing that you think you're coming out to help others
and so many other things get impacted along the way :)
I'm SO proud of my sister Karl for getting second attendant! I
meant my sister KarlY. SOrry grams…. she's so amazing and has SO much talent!!
I can't tell you how much I love her and all of my family :)
This work is amazing :) every day we see it hastening! The
people here are amazing :) I love every second of being out here!
Jesus Christ lives and he is our Savior. I know that with all my
heart and I love sharing it!
I love you all so much!
Love,
Sister Calder :)
